IDF Reservists Emergency Fund
The events of the last week in Israel have been nothing short of horrific. If you’re looking for ways to help — please read the below and consider donating directly to Nir by venmoing @nirshushan or on Zelle. For venmo verification purposes - the last 4 digits of the phone number are 5145.
For those not be aware, Nir Shushan served as an IDF combat officer from 2006-2011. The events and resulting war have been difficult to take in, as Nir dedicated his career to defending his home and the people of Israel.
While currently in the US, ours hearts are back in Israel with family and friends. Throughout this week, Nir has been in close touch with his fellow soldiers who have stepped up to serve.
Unfortunately with the sudden call up for 300K+ reservists, many are without the necessary military gear to safely carry out their duties, including footwear, backpacks, and vests.
Nir and his wife Maxine have already begun purchasing gear directly in Israel and begun to distribute to Nir’s former IDF units. We believe purchasing directly in Israel is the most efficient, timely, and secure method of distribution at this time. We also believe using Venmo/Zelle cuts out fees used by other platforms, so 100% of the donations go to the needs of IDF soldiers.
We ourselves personally have already seeded an account for donations, but we need to raise an additional $40K to fulfill all the gear requests we’ve received. Any additional funds raised, will be used to support individual soldiers in the IDF, and we will keep you posted on how the funds are being used.

We want to thank our incredible community for your generosity, support, and kind words. You are all amazing.
As of 10/16 - 5PM - we have raised a total of $2,878.00 (8% of our goal, in just a few hours)
We want to share some additional details on how your funds will be used:
The reserve unit we are supporting is stationed by the Lebanese border. There are over 100 soldiers in this unit, and 75% are actively in the field at any given moment protecting the border and Israeli villages from Hezbollah, who has begun offensive tactics unto both IDF posts and civilian populations. The unit is requesting 75 of the following items to outfit their soldiers: including Tactical shirts, packs, and shoes. The total cost to outfit one soldier is $495 (does not include other gear still needed).
The pricing for these items are as follow:
Tactical shirt - $110
Tactical backpack - $85
Tactical shoes - $300
To date, we have purchased 50 packs and 2 shoes. Your continued donations will allow us to purchase more. Note: We are saving on distribution costs and ensuring the safety of our soldiers’ locations, by ordering directly in Israel and IDF unit members will pick up.
The soldiers are so grateful for our community’s’ help and will send updates when they receive their new gear.
